"Tenderness is the weapon of one whose love is neither perfect nor complete"      - R. Browning

My awe of the biological wisdom of plants informs my work with people.  I apply as few plants at one time as possible, and aim to support both human-plant ecology and clients' relationships to themselves. For me, the practice of herbalism is a courtship of understanding and generosity, and I experience both plants and people as deep and tender worlds.

I studied health and herbal medicine at The Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, The Gaia School of Healing and Earth Education, The Ayurvedic Center of Vermont, and Twin Star's school of Clinical and Ayurvedic Herbalism. I began working formally with clients while living/working at Karmê Chöling, a Buddhist meditation retreat center in Barnet, Vermont, where I was fortunate to keep a community apothecary.

Meditative practices have been largely influential to my work as a health practitioner, helping me to relate appreciatively to all aspects of the healing process - from seeds of disharmony to realignment to the body's communication. In this way, I specialize in emotional assimilation and deep voice recovery.

I hold a master's degree in writing from Goddard College and have served as an English teacher as well as a residential counselor at a treatment center for addiction and mental illness.  My work as an herbalist is integrated with my teaching of literature, writing, and mindfulness courses, and I wish to support the sensitivity of humans to their fundamental bond with nature and all phenomena.
